Steel Deck

TYPE B DECK / ROOF DECK

B deck provides the best balance of strength and economy of all the 1.5”-deep roof decks. Rigid insulation must be a minimum of 1” thick for B deck to be used. B deck is manufactured from steel conforming to A653. It is available with nested side-laps.

Several finishing options are available: The standard prime-painted finish is gray and covers both the top and bottom sides of the steel decking. The galvanized finish is available in G40, G60, and G90 coatings. The third option includes two coats of bright white primer on the bottom of the decking with a prime-painted or galvanized top. The prime-painted finish is intended to protect the steel for a reasonable installation period while exposed to ordinary atmospheric conditions and shall be considered an impermanent and provisional coating.

TYPE N DECK

Twice as deep as B deck (and therefore considerably stronger), N Deck is designed for applications in which the supporting members need to be spaced as far apart as possible, minimizing the total number of structural members and thus reducing overall cost. This is ideal for large structures such as auditoriums and gymnasiums, in which the long structural members required to span large open spaces can be very heavy and quite costly.

Manufactured from steel conforming to A653, N deck is available with several finishing options and as nested side laps. The standard prime-painted finish is gray and covers both the top and bottom sides of the steel decking. The galvanized finish is available in G60 and G90 coatings. The third option includes two coats of bright white primer on the bottom of the decking with a prime-painted or galvanized top. The prime-painted finish is intended to protect the steel for a reasonable installation period while exposed to ordinary atmospheric conditions and shall be considered an impermanent and provisional coating.

FORM DECK

Form deck can be used as a structural support for insulating roof-fill systems or a permanent form for concrete floor and roof slabs. Form deck’s applications include floors and stairways in both residential and commercial applications. This makes it ideal for projects in which steel or concrete composite is not required. We offer several profile patterns, each of which has been designed to reduce the required volume of fill, present a high strength-to-weight ratio, and decrease erection time.

Composite Deck

1.5″ COMPOSITE / FLOOR DECK

Intsel Steel’s 1.5″ composite deck acts as a form during the concrete pour, allowing the designer to space the structural members to over 10’0″ o. c. without any additional shoring. Our 1.5″ composite deck has embossments in the vertical rib that bind with the concrete slab to create a composite-floor system. Once the concrete cures, the resulting composite-floor system offers both superior strength and stiffness. Available in nested and interlocking side-laps, 1.5” composite deck is manufactured from steel conforming to A653.

Our 1.5” composite deck is available with a galvanized coating. The galvanized finish is available in G60 and G90 coatings.

2″ COMPOSITE / FLOOR DECK

Intsel Steel’s 2″ composite deck acts as a form during the concrete pour, allowing the designer to space the structural members to over 12’0″ o. c. without any additional shoring. Our 2″ composite deck has embossments in the vertical rib that bind with the concrete slab to create a composite-floor system. Once the concrete cures, the resulting composite-floor system offers both superior strength and stiffness. Available in interlocking side-laps, 2” composite deck is manufactured from steel conforming to A653.

Our 2” composite deck is available with a galvanized coating. The galvanized finish is available in G60 and G90 coatings.

3″ COMPOSITE / FLOOR DECK

Intsel Steel’s 3″ composite deck acts as a form during the concrete pour, allowing the designer to space the structural members to over 14’0″ o. c. without any additional shoring. Our 3″ composite deck has embossments in the vertical rib that bind with the concrete slab to create a composite-floor system. Once the concrete cures, the resulting composite-floor system offers both superior strength and stiffness. Available in interlocking side-laps, 3” composite deck is manufactured from steel conforming to A653.

Our 3” composite deck is available with a galvanized coating. The galvanized finish is available in G60 and G90 coatings.
