Expanded Metal

A versatile material that is produced from solid sheets or plates of carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, expanded metal is available in four basic types: standard (or regular), flattened, grating and architectural (or decorative) meshes. The four primary applications for expanded metal include enclosures, protection, support, and decoration.

Steel Grating

Intsel Steel’s grating is manufactured by the automatic weld-forge method, which joins the bearing bars to the cross bars, resulting in a sturdy panel with one-piece construction. Typical applications include floors, decks, fire escapes, and walkways. Our grating is available with either a smooth or serrated surface and finish options include black-painted finish, galvanized finish, mill finish, or bare finish. Made to NAAMM standards.

Closed-Mesh Grating

Close-meshed grating is a pressure-locked grating product produced with close-bar spacing to accommodate the requirements for pedestrian comfort and safety. Typical applications include building entrances, air ducts, and sidewalk installations where ventilation and easy access are required. Closed-mesh grating is available in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. This product complies with standards as established by the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

Grip Strut™ Safety Grating

Grip Strut is a lightweight metal grating designed for safety underfoot. The unique one-piece diamond shaped construction provides slip resistance in all directions. Grip Strut is ideally suited for all walking/working surfaces where mud, ice, snow, grease, oil, or detergents create slippery or hazardous conditions. Grip Strut grating is commonly used for work platforms, industrial flooring, catwalks, balconies, storage areas, walkways and stair treads.

Grate-Lock™ Interlocking-Type Mezzanine Grating

Grate-Lock Grating is an easy-to-install system of interlocking planks, treads, and accessories, that provide safe, sturdy footing for mezzanine floors, platforms, walkways, and other applications. Increased load performance has been achieved through interlocking planks and a ventilated’ rung design. Hundreds of sole-gripping dimples ensure a safe surface in all kinds of environments. Grate-Lock is available in lighter-gauge steel if desired, which can result in substantial material savings.

Heavy-Duty Grip Strut Grating

Heavy Duty Grip Strut is a one-of-a-kind plank grating sporting a hefty 24-foot clear span capability that offers the advantages of regular Grip Strut plus capabilities for greater loads and/or longer spans. Heavy Duty Grip Strut walkways are ideal for process plants, refineries, grain elevators, conveyor walkways, underbridge inspection walkways, and paper mills. Heavy Duty Grip Strut is more competitive than ever against Bar Grating.
